500,000 New EV Charging Stations Are Coming Soon

Updated: May 28, 2021

Last month, President Biden proposed spending $15 billion dollars to bring the U.S. inventory of electric vehicle charging stations to a total of 500,000 nationwide by 2030. To successfully get there, many contract manufacturing vendors like GAB Electronic Services will be needed to meet demand because currently, there are only 42,000 charging stations across the country, according to the Department of Energy. A third of those existing charging stations are located in California, where electric vehicles are more prominent and popular. That said, the EV trend is growing from coast to coast and as such, charging stations will be in demand in every state. With that demand comes the need for more firms to expertly handle the mechanical assembly of those chargers.

Because of range anxiety, most electric vehicle owners today have chargers at the place of residence but in order for EVs to be more widespread, charging stations will need to become as ubiquitous as gas stations.
